Health Ministry
Welcome to the Health Ministry

Health Ministry is integral part of the Care Ministries program at Pilgrim Lutheran Church.  The program is implemented by part time Parish Nurse, Nancy Haughee, under the direction of the Health Ministry Advisory Board. The Board is made up of volunteers from the congregation and meets monthly. 

Pilgrim’s Health Ministry serves both members of the congregation and members of community.  Annual activities planned by the health ministry include: 

  • Flu shots--October
  • Grief Group
  • Blood drives quarterly--August, November, February, May on 2nd Wednesday 
  • Blood pressure checks--2nd Sunday of the month, 9:15-9:45 am 
  • Healing Prayer during communion at 8:15 service, 3rd Sunday of the month 
  • CPR/AED training 
  • Wednesday Coffee and Conversation, 2-3:30 pm every week
  • Exercise classes—twice a week: Tuesday/Thursday 7-8:00 am and Monday/Wednesday/Friday 1-2:00 pm, Activities are mostly seated, gentle exercise for seniors.
  • Home and Hospital visits on a need basis.
  • Medical equipment loan program (walkers, commodes, toilet support rails, BP monitors) when needed.
  • Lunch Bunch--2nd Wednesday of the month with speakers on various topics. 12-1:00 pm. Available to all.
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry--Knit, Purl, Pray and Crochet Women’s Circle which meets every 3rd Thursday, 10-11:30 am in member homes.
  • Lions Health Screening Van.  Watch the bulletin
  • Pilgrim Health Notes quarterly--January/April/July/October
  • Bulletin boards/ community health events posting Referral/health information as needed and/or requested
