Stewardship Campaign – Fall 2008/Winter 2009
Pilgrim Lutheran Church has an enduring history of ministry in our community. For 35 years, our church has
provided a warm and engaging place of welcome, worship, service
to others, and spiritual growth. Eager for ministry, our church
continues to seek ways to live out its calling in this community.
Currently, our church’s facilities are inadequate for our ministry
programs. Due to space constraints, we have limited flexibility
in the scheduling of our meeting and activity rooms both on Sunday
mornings and throughout the week. Christian Education classes are
required to meet off-site, and we have no room to grow many of our
programs.
In order to continue our mission as God’s people, our “Grateful Hearts” campaign
seeks to expand our church facilities to serve the ministries of
our church. Our building project supports the following areas:
Christian Education
- Provide more room for Christian
Education classes for all ages
- improve
space for forums and other education activities
Children and Youth
- Better accommodate activities for children and youth
- Improve scheduling opportunities for activities on our church
site (vs., having to hold events away from the church)
- Provide better dedicated space for our Preschool program
Community Service and
Outreach
- Provide space from which to serve current and future ministry
programs
- Increase opportunities for us extend the reach of God’s
love in our community and beyond
- Create larger, better quality storage areas to support church
and community activities
Welcome and Accessibility
- Provide adequate room for all of our church and community activities
so that we can welcome members and visitors alike
- Meet safety and accessibility codes in all buildings and entrances
- Provide better office spaces from which to support our ministry
programs
Fellowship and Hospitality
- Allow full usage of our Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings
- Ensure greater flexibility and options for scheduling meetings,
events, and gatherings
