Who We Are

Started as a mission to the growing community on South Hill, Pilgrim Lutheran Church celebrated its first worship service on March 18, 1973.

At Pilgrim Lutheran Church we desire to connect with each person in a real and authentic way.  Please join us for worship, fellowship or one of our many ministry offerings.  If you are visiting the site today for the first time we invite you to contact any staff person with additional questions or needs.  Thank you!

What we Believe

We confess the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—as professed in the Apostles Creed (below), the Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds.

I BELIEVE in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.

I BELIEVE in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

* “catholic” meaning “universal”
